President of AKTIBA, the association of active tourism companies in Euskadi. Believes in real sustainability and the transformative power of a fresh perspective.

JON ARRATIBEL

Port captain, manager and founding spirit of Begi Bistan. With over 25 years of experience and diverse sectorial training, he is the lighthouse guiding the ideas the team brings to life. Visionary, grounded and deeply tied to the sea and land. Believes in paving the way from the local level, with courage, networked teamwork and common sense.

IRENE JIMÉNEZ

Senior Technician in Tourist Guiding, Information and Assistance, specialised in team facilitation and nature tourism. With targeted training in team building and sustainable tourism promotion, she brings warmth, dynamism and organisation to each experience. Speaks Basque at C1 level and believes in shaping transformative experiences grounded in respect for the environment and the group.

BEÑAT EIZAGIRRE

Port captain‑in‑training and sailor with early vocational calling and strong coastal roots. Graduated as a Senior Technician in Maritime Transport and Offshore Fishing, he has sailed on coastal and tourist vessels since he was 17, combining training and experience. Responsible, committed and full of potential, he brings youthful energy and professionalism to every voyage. Believes in learning by doing and the sea as a lifelong school.

JONE REDONDO

Environmental scientist and science communicator with contagious curiosity and energy. She began her journey at Begi Bistan as an intern and discovered her vocation: bringing science closer to everyone. Her communication style blends knowledge, empathy and passion for the territory. Believes that understanding nature is the first step to caring for it.

FERNANDO MONTEROS

Port and coastal captain, versatile professional trained in safety, maritime protection and radiocommunications. Rigorous and multifaceted, he plays a crucial role in Begi Bistan’s embarked campaigns. Believes in navigation as a way of life and in the value of well‑done work.

VIOLETA BANDRÉS

Geographer and historian with the soul of a storyteller and vocation for guiding. Specialised in tourist information and assistance, she connects people, places and memories with sensitivity and rigor. As a trained Geopark guide, she knows every corner as if she’d always lived there. Believes in the value of stories that awaken awareness and a sense of belonging.

MARTA ARCAUTE

Economist with an analytical outlook and a committed heart. Specialised in financial management, she has supported Begi Bistan’s strategy and growth for more than a decade. Her approach combines rigor, long‑term vision and a close team‑oriented style. Believes in projects with soul… and the numbers that give them a future.

Biologist and Geopark guide, specialised in biodiversity and ecosystem management. With academic training in Natural Sciences education, she melds scientific knowledge with a passion for outreach. She delights in turning the complexity of nature into accessible, engaging narratives. Believes in science that is approachable, vibrant and serves people and the territory.

CARMEN LÓPEZ‑ALONSO

Bridge sailor with professional training in basic safety, firefighting and support navigation. With maritime experience and clear vocation for teamwork, she brings calm, responsibility and skill on board. Her commitment and versatility make her a key figure in ensuring safe, well‑coordinated experiences. Believes in the strength of the group and the sea as a shared learning space.

Patrón portuario y marino profesional con formación completa en transporte marítimo, seguridad y lucha contra incendios. Su versatilidad a bordo y dominio técnico lo convierten en un pilar sólido en travesías turísticas y operativas. Tranquilo, resolutivo y siempre dispuesto a sumar, aporta seguridad y profesionalidad desde el primer embarque. Cree en el trabajo riguroso y en el mar como espacio de aprendizaje continuo.

Port captain, Physical and Sports Animation Technician and professional diver. Versatile and solution‑oriented, he takes part in multiple company activities bringing energy, technical expertise and collaborative spirit. He knows the sea from within and adapts to every challenge with composure and effectiveness. Believes in the value of good work and the power of the team to go further.

UNAI ESKOBAR

Specialist in management and activation with a strategic mind and athletic spirit. With training in Financial Management and Internal Trade, he brings organisational insight and a sustainable approach to every project. As a Physical and Sports Animation Technician, he knows movement also connects people and territories. Believes in the balance between planning, action and local commitment.

Port captain, rowing, kayak and SUP instructor, and the facilitator of Begi Bistan’s MICE and team‑building activities. Versatile and highly adaptable, he guides groups on water‑based and land‑based experiences with warmth and professionalism. Deeply connected to the coastal environment, he conveys values of cohesion, enjoyment and respect for nature. Believes in teamwork as a driver of well‑being and transformation.

Archaeologist and specialised guide in ecotourism, heritage and nature tourism. Combines scientific training with a strong vocation for cultural and environmental interpretation.
