🌍 Sport, Sea and Sustainability: Begi Bistan in the OSES Project

Over the past three years, Begi Bistan has been part of an international initiative that unites sport, sustainability, and the ocean: the OSES – Ocean Sport for Environmental Sustainability project.
This European programme brings together partners from across the continent to place sport at the heart of ocean conservation, promoting good practices, education, and environmental awareness through sea-related activities.

💪 Three Years Working Towards a Shared Goal

At Begi Bistan, we have actively contributed to the project, sharing our experience in sustainable and educational activities in Gipuzkoa.
Our role has focused on sharing methodologies and best practices that prove how sport can be a powerful tool for environmental and social transformation.

Throughout this collaboration, we have exchanged knowledge with European partners and helped develop educational materials and tools that encourage sports organisations to be more environmentally responsible.

🌊 Closing a Cycle, Opening a New Chapter

This month marked the final OSES webinar, titled “Sport at the Forefront of Ocean Conservation”.
It was an inspiring event that gathered all project partners to share results, lessons learned, and future perspectives.

While OSES comes to an end, for Begi Bistan it represents a new beginning.
This journey has strengthened our belief that sport and environmental education must go hand in hand, especially in regions like ours, where the sea is part of our identity and culture.

🌊 Three intense years of learning, collaboration and action.

At Begi Bistan, we have paddled, taught, and shared our way of understanding the sea — with respect, emotion, and commitment.
The OSES project has allowed us to join a European network that, like us, believes that change begins in the water.

🌱 A Commitment that Continues

Taking part in OSES has been an opportunity to connect with a European network of professionals who share our vision: change begins locally, in every paddle stroke, every route, and every activity that inspires respect for nature.

We will keep working along this path, creating experiences that combine the enjoyment of the sea with environmental awareness, and promoting responsible tourism and experiential learning in nature.
